On 15–16 June, the LRE Youth Forum will bring together young people from across Europe in Wrocław, Poland, for two days of exchange, reflection, and dialogue on history, memory, identity, and contemporary challenges.
Set in a city shaped by complex layers of German, Polish and Silesian history, the Forum will invite participants to explore how the Second World War, post-war migration, reconstruction, and shifting identities continue to influence the way Europe remembers its past. Through site visits, guided discussions, and workshops, participants will engage with Wrocław’s wartime and post-war heritage not as distant history, but as a living space for questioning, learning, and dialogue.
The programme will take place at the University of Wrocław and the Depot History Centre, combining historical exploration with reflection on current issues such as disinformation, conflict, identity, and the role of young people in shaping responsible remembrance today. From the city tour to the visit to the Depot History Centre, the Forum will offer participants the opportunity to connect local history with broader European questions about memory, belonging, and civic responsibility.
The LRE Youth Forum in Wrocław is an opportunity to meet peers from different countries, exchange perspectives, and take part in a shared reflection on why history matters today — and how young Europeans can help carry remembrance forward in a changing Europe.
