Join a growing community of young people across Europe who want to explore WWII history, connect with others, and take an active role in shaping the future of remembrance.
About the network
The LRE Youth Ambassadors Network is a long-term initiative supported by Erasmus+, connecting young people across Europe who are interested in WWII remembrance, history education and active civic engagement.
Participation is free of charge and open to young people aged 15 to 30 living in the European Union. No prior knowledge or specific experience is required. The network is designed as an inclusive space where participants can learn, exchange ideas, build friendships and reflect on the lessons of the past in relation to the future they want to help shape.
Starting in the second half of 2026, Youth Ambassadors will be invited to take part in online and in-person activities, including workshops, study visits, youth forums, digital storytelling sessions and opportunities to contribute to educational projects.
Meet young people from different countries and take part in exchanges, forums and regular online meetings.
Build your knowledge of WWII history and strengthen your skills in communication, digital storytelling, research and public engagement.
Contribute ideas, co-create content, take part in events and bring youth perspectives into the work of remembrance organisations.
You can apply to become a Youth Ambassador if you are between 15 and 30 years old and live in a European Union country. You do not need to have previous experience in history, remembrance or youth projects. We are looking for motivated young people who are curious, open to exchange and interested in learning with others.
The network welcomes participants from different backgrounds and experiences. It is especially committed to creating opportunities for young people who may have had fewer chances to take part in international activities before.
Youth Ambassadors will be invited to take part in a range of activities between 2026 and 2028, combining international meetings, online training, study visits and youth-led events.
A two-day programme with workshops, discussions and guided visits exploring Wrocław’s WWII and post-war heritage. The forum will also create space to reflect on how history connects to today’s world, including current conflicts and challenges such as disinformation.
An international youth exchange exploring the history of persecution and concentration camps in the Northern Netherlands and Northern Germany. Participants will visit Memorial Centre Kamp Westerbork, Memorial Esterwegen and Bergen-Belsen Memorial, with guided tours and opportunities to meet eyewitnesses.
A long-term online programme designed by Interpret Europe and Studio Globo. The sessions will focus on digital storytelling, research, community engagement and practical communication skills.
A youth forum co-created with the Ambassadors Network. Participants will help shape the focus, activities and outcomes of the event, and may also take part in the main LRE Forum alongside professionals working in WWII remembrance and cultural heritage.
