Join the Dialogue

LRE Youth Forum Wrocław 2026

On 15-16 June 2026, the LRE Youth Forum will bring together young people from across Europe in Wrocław, Poland, for two days of exchange, reflection and dialogue on history, remembrance and contemporary challenges.

Taking place in a city shaped by a complex German, Polish and Silesian heritage, the Forum will encourage participants to explore how the Second World War, post-war migration, reconstruction and changing borders continue to influence local memory and everyday life. Through site visits, workshops and joint discussions, participants will engage with Wrocław’s history in an interactive and accessible way, connecting stories of the past with questions that still matter today.

The programme, organised in cooperation with the University of Wrocław, will combine historical exploration with reflection on current challenges such as disinformation, ongoing conflicts and questions of identity. Activities at locations including the Depot History Centre and across the city itself will create opportunities to better understand how local experiences connect to broader European histories and debates.

The LRE Youth Forum in Wrocław will also offer a space to meet peers from different countries and backgrounds, exchange perspectives and build new connections in an international environment. The Forum aims to encourage open discussions about how the past continues to influence the present day and how young people can help carry remembrance forward in a changing Europe.

This Youth Forum is organised in cooperation with the University of Wrocław and will take place in parallel with its Public History Summer School held from 15 to 19 June 2026. If you are interested in how history functions in the public sphere, the summer school is an opportunity to hear about specific case studies delivered by specialists in the field, as well as presentations of individual and collaborative projects.
