On 2–3 March 2026, the LRE Youth Forum brings together young people from across Europe in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, for two days of exchange, reflection, and dialogue on history, memory, and contemporary challenges.

Against the backdrop of a city shaped by the Second World War, the forum offers a space to connect past and present, explore how histories of war and violence continue to resonate today, and reflect on the role young people play in shaping the future of remembrance in Europe. Through shared discussions, workshops, and encounters with historical places, participants are invited to engage critically with memory—not as something fixed, but as something lived, questioned, and passed on.

The LRE Youth Forum is an opportunity to meet peers from different countries, exchange perspectives, and take part in a collective reflection on why history matters today—and how it can inform action, responsibility, and solidarity across Europe.
